Overcoming anxiety: Therapy in Berlin when fear controls your life.

A racing heart for no apparent reason. That feeling of anxiety before you enter a room. Avoiding places that used to be second nature. Anxiety is a natural part of life, but when it dictates what you do, where you go and who you see, it becomes a prison. As an experienced therapist in Berlin, I can help you tackle your anxiety at its root and leave it behind for good. With availability and short-notice appointments.

Anxiety disorders take many forms. Panic disorder, social anxiety disorder, generalised anxiety disorder, specific phobias: each has its own history and requires its own therapeutic approach. Waiting for the anxiety to subside usually doesn’t help. With the right support, however, it can change.

Anxiety therapy that focuses on causes, not symptoms.

Breathing techniques and cognitive restructuring can bring relief. But they do little to change what actually perpetuates the anxiety. My approach goes deeper: Together, we explore where the anxiety comes from, what it's trying to protect, and how you can let it go.

This sometimes means briefly venturing into what you fear – but never alone and never uncontrolled. Safety in the therapeutic setting is a prerequisite for genuine change.

Depth psychology & behavioural therapy

I combine the best of both worlds: the depth of psychodynamic work with the solution-focused pragmatism of behavioural therapy.

Emotion-focused work

Fear has a function. We recognize it together and thus open a way out of the cycle of trigger, fear and avoidance.

Solution-focused approach

Every session has a clear focus. We work purposefully towards tangible change within a reasonable timeframe.

Active participation

I am not a passive observer. I get involved. Respectfully, directly, and always with your best interests at heart.

Whoever works with you makes the difference
Therapy is a matter of trust. Before you make your decision, it’s only fair that you know who you’re dealing with: how I think, how I work, and why I chose this profession.
This is how we get started together
The first step is often the hardest. That’s why I’ve made it as easy as possible to get started:

1. Free initial consultation (up to 30 mins)

We get to know each other: in person, over the phone or via video call. You tell me what’s on your mind. I explain how I work. No pressure, no obligation.

2. Diagnosis & setting shared goals

During the first few sessions, we will work together to identify what is troubling you, what you would like to change, and which approach is right for you.

3. Active therapeutic work

We work together – right from the very first session. In a focused and in-depth way. I’ll help you not only to identify difficult feelings, but also to truly transform them.

4. Noticeable change within a reasonable timeframe

In-depth work does not have to go on indefinitely. Clients often experience the first real changes in how they perceive, think and feel as early as the first few sessions.

You don’t need to make a decision today. A no-obligation, free initial consultation is a good place to start. We’ll see if it’s a good fit – without you having to commit to anything in advance.

I currently have therapy slots available. In many cases, an initial consultation can be arranged within a few days. Please email me or book directly via Doctolib.

I work with patients who pay privately and – depending on the policy – with private health insurers. Unfortunately, public health insurance funds do not cover the costs. Please feel free to discuss your options with me during our initial consultation.
Yes, in full. Therapy in English is available to the same standard of depth and quality.
I take an active and direct approach, rather than simply observing from the sidelines. My approach combines depth psychology, behavioural therapy and emotion-focused therapy. I work with you to address the difficult issues, because that is precisely what makes change possible.
